Saturday: the story of a Saturday night

Well I often do these as you can probably tell, well, at least when I do something interesting on the weekend. So I went out on Saturday night, being Saturday the 25th of August. It was my friend Claire's 20th birthday. I had been invited to another birthday bash that weekend, but Claire had asked me first so I went out and celebrated with her.

I got dropped off after work for dinner at la Porchetta and had a BBQ meatlovers pizza, I hadn't had pizza in ages. It was packed, people everywhere in there. There was a function going on, for what I dont know, and also what appeared to be some other birthday celebrations happening.

We then walked up to the Vic and was there by about 9. We got a couch and chairs and stayed there for the majority of the evening. We watched as the Vic began to get busier and busier. I was ordering Rum draft from the front bar and it tasted good. I was sitting back looking around when I noticed Emily at the back bar. I had met Em through a friend of mine, and hadnt seen her in a while and so went up to say hello.
"Emily" I said. I was talking to her for a bit and we then moved from the bar to some another couch and chairs just next to where I was sitting before. Em was out with her sister as it turned out. I also got to meet a friend of ems from her accounting class, Tristan. He was pretty cool, he bought me a drink and was trying his luck with a chick he met at Tafe. He later went down to Romano's to see if he could find her.
Meanwhile all my other frinds from school who came out for Claire's birthday were looking at me thinking I was trying to pick up Em. She's like 27 I told them, to which there response was, so. It was funny. Em and her sisiter eventually left to go to the Capital. I then went and sat back in the original group I came out with.
I went to go grab another Rum draft from the bar, but she came back with 2. I said I only wanted one and she said, do you want two? For free I asked and she said yea we would only have to tip it out anyway. So free rum. Score!
More of our old school friends arrived and we were trying to decide whether or not to go to the Capital. Eventually we decided we would, by this time the Vic had gotten quieter. This was about 1.20 pm and only 10 minutes till lockout. There was a line at the Capital and we then had to decide to go back to the Vic or try getting into the Capital, risking not being let in before lockout. We decided to risk it, all or nothing.
As I stood in line there was this drunk guy infront of me shouting out to people ahead in the line. I looked and shouted to him; "Moory!" He turned around, "Lockie!" Turns out it was Adam, the guy whos birthday I was also invited to.
The line enentually began to move and we were some of the last few let inside. Adam paid for me aswell which was also cool.
Inside I ran into more people I knew. Loretta and Sam from work. I hung out with them for a bit. I also saw Tara and Kelly Ann. Oh and Kimberly from work, and Recee from work. Everyone. well, not everyone, but a lot of people.

All in all a good night.

Harry Nixon Electrical: Part6, The end is coming.

Nothing has really changed since the last post. Brochure is still not finished. I am going to visit the client this weekend, probably Sunday if he is free that day, as I am free that day as well. This will give me the oportunity to go and take some pictures of his new Van for the brochure, and see if he liked the changes made on the Business card since we last discussed them.
Might also ask when and what he needs me to give him, so his friend can make the Fridge Magnets.

With these last few things that should not take long to do I can see the end of this assignment, and then maybe I can breath a sigh of relief.

Photography: Wagga Waggas Identity

Started a new module at Tafe the other day, and am doing some stuff with Photography. Its pretty cool. On the weekend we had to go and take pictures of Wagga, with the topic being Waggas identity.

Adam and I went out on Monday afternoon, from about 1.30 til 5.00 taking photos all around Wagga. We started at the Botanic Gardens, went to the Railway station next, and then Parked in the Market Place, walking down to the Hampton bridge, and back again.

We took some pretty good shots, and it was kinda cool just going around with a camera for an afternoon, taking pix of whatever looked interesting.

We then had to turn 6 of our 100 shots into black and white, and put them on a Flickr account.

Harry Nixon Electrical: Part 5

This particular project is almost due, very soon, and it still scares me. Since the last post I have visited Harry and he selected some of his favourite designs I presented to him. This included a letter head, and the final Business card look, only having to do 2 minor changes. He liked the design of the fridge magnet, and wants do do something different by making them black and white. This way they can be produced at a cheaper cost, and it still looks good, with all the important information visible, without being too distracting. He knows someone who can develop the Fridge magnets for him.
Also he got a new Van, which he hopes to put the new Business logo I designed for him on the side.
Last design thing that remains in the Brochure, which is almost complete, bar some final details, including text.

Not looking foward to really getting into the paperwork involved in this project, as I havent done much of it to date. But its just one of those things you have to do.
